Effective Date: April 13, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Milo mobile app (“App”) and any services provided through it (collectively, the “Service”). By using Milo, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Definitions
A few terms we use throughout this document:
“Milo” / “we” / “us” — the Milo app and the team behind it.
“Service” — the Milo mobile app and anything offered through it, including free and paid features.
“You” / “user” — anyone who downloads, accesses, or uses Milo.
“Milo Pro” — our optional paid subscription tier
“Plaid” — the third-party service we use to securely connect your financial accounts. Plaid has its own terms and privacy policy that govern that connection.
“Content” — any text, data, guidance, or other material made available through the Service.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use Milo. If you’re under 18, you need permission from a parent or guardian. By using the Service, you confirm that you meet these requirements.
3. Your Account
To use Milo, you’ll sign in with Google or Apple. Keep your login secure — you’re responsible for any activity under your account. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at hello@milobuddy.com.
4. What You Can Do on Milo
Milo helps you understand your money and build better financial habits. The Service may include tools for connecting financial accounts, tracking spending and savings, setting goals, and receiving personalized guidance. Features may change over time.
5. What You Can’t Do on Milo
Don’t misuse the app or attempt to harm other users. That means no:
Reverse engineering, scraping, or attempting to hack the app
Using Milo for anything illegal or deceptive
Providing false or misleading financial information
Violating applicable laws or the rights of others
If you violate these rules, we may suspend or terminate your access at any time, at our discretion.
6. Data and Privacy
We care about your privacy. To provide the Service, we collect personal and financial data — including account and transaction data accessed through Plaid. We use this data strictly to help you manage your budget and improve the app. We don’t sell your personal data.
When you connect a financial account, that connection is facilitated by Plaid, which has its own terms of service and privacy policy governing how your data is handled on their end. We encourage you to review Plaid’s policies at plaid.com.
See our full Privacy Policy for details on what we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
7. Paid Features
Payment will be charged to your account at the time of purchase. Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
Milo’s features and subscription tiers may change over time. We reserve the right to modify, limit, or discontinue any part of the Service — including features available under Milo Pro — at any time. A subscription does not guarantee that any specific feature will remain available for the duration of your billing period.
You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your device’s account settings. Canceling a subscription will stop future renewals. No refunds will be provided for unused portions of an active subscription.
8. Disclaimers
We work hard to make Milo useful and reliable, but:
We don’t guarantee financial outcomes, savings, or behavior change.
Milo’s guidance is for informational and educational purposes only and does not constitute financial, investment, or other professional advice.
You are solely responsible for your financial decisions and should consult a qualified professional before making any financial choices.
We’re not liable for any losses, damages, or issues resulting from app use, reliance on its content, or data inaccuracies.
Use Milo at your own discretion.
9. Intellectual Property
We own everything we’ve built — the name Milo, the design, the character, and the content in the app. You can’t copy, modify, or redistribute any part of Milo without our written permission.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms over time. If there are significant changes, we’ll notify you in the app. Continued use of Milo means you accept the new Terms.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Milo’s total liability to you for any claim arising out of or related to these Terms or your use of the Service will not exceed the greater of: (a) the amount you paid to Milo in the 12 months before the claim arose, or (b) $100 USD.
We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages — including lost savings, financial losses, or data loss — even if we’ve been advised of the possibility of such damages. This applies to everything: app errors, data inaccuracies, guidance you acted on, or interruptions to the Service.
12. Disputes and Arbitration
If you have a dispute with us, we’d love the chance to resolve it directly first. Reach out at hello@milobuddy.com before taking any formal action.
If we can’t work it out, any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of Milo will be resolved through binding individual arbitration — not in court. Arbitration will be administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules.
You and Milo both waive the right to a jury trial and the right to participate in any class action or representative proceeding. You may only bring claims in your individual capacity.
This section doesn’t apply to small claims court actions that qualify under applicable law.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes not subject to arbitration under Section 12 will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you consent to jurisdiction there.
